Yphos was born out of sheer love for everything underwater. A perfect blend of luxury, technology and excellence. It is the manifestation of decades of experience in LED lighting for marine applications, extensive materials knowledge and exceptional engineering expertise.
With decades-long experience in underwater tech for some of the world’s most demanding projects and clients like Disney, Universal, MGM, Cirque de Soleil, in some of the earth’s harshest waters — from Siberia to the Red Sea, the unique expertise accumulated at Yphos is what makes our products stand out in terms of quality, design, durability and smart technologies.

All YPHOS products are made in Europe with the finest EU and US origin materials. And quite special materials. In fact, we are primarily using one of the rarest and most durable materials on earth to make our lights – 904L Stainless Steel. A very special alloy with remarkable resistance to extreme conditions, traditionally used in aerospace applications and fine watchmaking.
The extensive use of robotized and computer-controlled manufacturing processes, allows us to achieve the tight tolerances and intricate design details that make our products so efficient, powerful and durable.
The careful selection of materials, post-manufacturing processes (like nano-coating), sophisticated optics and the rigorous stress-tests further amplify the inherent quality of YPHOS products.
At the heart of each Yphos light is where our technology truly shines.
The electronics inside every Yphos light use state-of-the-art technologies to provide exceptional lighting output, rich colors and remarkable efficiency. Proprietary technologies are used in the control and self-protection features, leading to the most advanced underwater lights in the world.
We design our own PCBs, choosing the ideal components for the marine environment and we use the most powerful LEDs by Cree and Osram – two pioneering companies in the field that we closely cooperate with since 2007 when the first high power LEDs surfaced.
Yphos lights are probably the most certified underwater lights globally.
We have a solid understanding of the quality of our products. Yet however, we assign independent & accredited laboratories and institutions to test, verify, validate and certify the quality and safety of our lights.
For example, our lights are tested and certified to be EMC compliant – this ensures that they will not interfere with critical systems of your boat. They meet the CE directives and have a Type Approval from Lloyds – demonstrating the conformance to recognised industry quality standards, International Conventions and the LR Rules. Our lights are also certified to be IP68 at 15m depth – much deeper than where they are normally installed.
This kind of third-party validation of the paramount quality of YPHOS lights is important when choosing such components for your boat.
